CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (March 6, 2013) – Rockwell Collins has named Timberline Manufacturing, specializing in electrical contract manufacturing, as the President’s Award winner for 2013. The top honor was presented at the Rockwell Collins Annual Supplier Conference, which took place on March 5.

“Working with a strong performing supply base is a critical factor in our ability to deliver high quality communications and avionics electronics solutions to our customers,” said Kevin Myers, vice president, Material and Supply for Rockwell Collins. “Timberline Manufacturing has gone above and beyond our expectations in providing electrical contract manufacturing that improves efficiencies and drives performance for Rockwell Collins.”

Founded in 1993, Marion, Iowa-based Timberline Manufacturing provides electrical contract manufacturing with a specialization in wire harness assembly, control panels and circuit board assembly. In addition, the company provides electromechanical assembly, custom cable assembly, and value-added manufacturing services, including design and engineering.

The President’s Award is one of five Capstone Awards presented by Rockwell Collins at this annual event. This award serves as an acknowledgement of significant contributions made over the past year based upon quality, delivery, total cost of ownership, lead time and customer service. Additional criteria for this Capstone Award include commitment to technology development, innovation and continuous improvement through Lean processes.

Other Capstone Award winners named by Rockwell Collins this year included:

  • TEK Products, of Long Lake, Minn., received the Environmental Stewardship Award for its efforts to reduce energy usage while significantly reducing waste in its processes.
  • Precision Circuits, Inc., of Migdal Haemek, Israel, was honored with the Lean Award for applying Lean ElectronicsSM principles as its fundamental continuous improvement philosophy.
  • The Advanced Technology Award was presented to the University of Iowa’s Operator Performance Laboratory.
