Rockwell Collins Expands Footprint in Canada

Earlier this year, Rockwell Collins acquired Kitchener, Ontario-based Christie Digital Systems’ (“Christie®”) Matrix series projectors product line. The addition of the projector product line enhances the full suite of capabilities available for offer to military and aviation customers’ simulation and training needs.

“This acquisition represents a sizable investment in Canada for our company,” said Lee Obst, managing director or Rockwell Collins Canada. “The offset value of this acquisition is significant and shows that Rockwell Collins is stepping up its presence in the country.”

The Matrix series of projectors complements other offerings from Rockwell Collins, including the Rockwell Collins ProSim™ ultra contrast projector, which was awarded the Blue Ribbon for Innovation by Military Training Technology in 2014, the EP®-8100 image generator, as well as other third-party projector solutions.

With the acquisition complete, the Rockwell Collins Matrix family of simulation projectors provides customers with the highest fidelity and performance for military simulation. Leveraging a Matrix projector means leveraging a comprehensive suite of tools that are considered options elsewhere.

The Rockwell Collins Matrix SIM™ and Matrix StIM™ projectors will continue to be manufactured by Christie with system engineering, integration and service and support provided by Rockwell Collins for all current and future Matrix offerings.
