ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Oct. 9, 2017) - Continuing its focus on providing cybersecurity solutions for critical infrastructure, Rockwell Collins is working with a major transit provider on a project to help reduce the risk of a cyberattack and is offering its cybersecurity expertise to the rail industry.

Rockwell Collins’ solution includes onsite or hosted cybersecurity centers. The service uses a phased approach for implementation, including assessing, hardening, monitoring and maintaining current systems for rail organizations. The service uses Rockwell Collins’ existing high-availability private network, which is currently transferring data securely for hundreds of airlines and a variety of critical infrastructure customers worldwide.

“We know that many critical infrastructure organizations are working to fend off cyberattacks every day, including those in the rail industry,” said Ken Schreder, vice president, Surface Transportation and Critical Infrastructure Systems for Rockwell Collins. “We’ve designed our solutions to reduce the risk and impact of cyberattacks, helping ensure passenger safety, securing rail infrastructure and helping to enable business continuity.”

Rockwell Collins currently provides cyber, physical and fully integrated security solutions to a majority of the nuclear energy facilities throughout the United States, which is one of the few industries with federally regulated critical infrastructure standards for cybersecurity. The company’s cyber services are based on well-known and internationally accepted best practices published by organizations such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the International Standards Organization (ISO), and also work with American Public Transportation Association (APTA) cybersecurity standards focused on the rail industry.”
