FMS-6000 Flight Management System
Overview
As an integral component embedded within our Pro Line 21™ and Pro Line 4™ avionics systems, the Rockwell Collins FMS-6000 flight management system for midsize and heavy business jets combines task-streamlining automation with multi-sensor navigation capability. It synchronizes lateral and vertical flight plans and assists crews in making decisions about the most energy- or time-efficient trajectories for each flight. The FMS-6000 automatically flies Performance Based Navigation procedures that reduce track distance, flight time and fuel consumption when compared with conventional routes. Examples include SBAS/WAAS Localizer Performance with Vertical (LPV) approaches.FMS-6000 automation assists with calculation of vital performance parameters: Vspeeds, weights, runway requirements and on some aircraft, climb gradients. If you have Pro Line 21 with electronic charts, our patented Chartlink™ feature cues the origin, destination and alternate charts while you program your FMS-6000.
