Overview

Athena 311 from Rockwell Collins gives you a tactical-grade navigation solution with high performance, integrated flight control system, GPS and air data/attitude and heading reference system. And it features attitude and heading information with static and dynamic accuracies superior to those of traditional spinning-mass gyros.

The unit includes solid-state Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) gyros and accelerometers. Kalman filtering algorithms provide online bias calibration of the MEMS sensors by using information from the integrated GPS, barometric altimeter and external magnetometer. In addition, the Athena 311 includes pressure ports for a complete air-data suite, including airspeed and flow angle measurements.
