Rockwell Collins Panorama Glass Front Projection display with EP-8000 Image Generator

The Panorama GFP system meets the customer's training needs and cost constraints while enabling a visual system solution exactly mapped to the training requirements of the platform in fixed-based or transportable configurations. When combined with a Rockwell Collins 2015HC projector and EP-8000 Image Generator, the Panorama GFP is the optimum solution for mission rehearsal and night vision goggle crew coordination training.

Rockwell Collins unveils Panorama Glass Front Projection at I/ITSEC

ORLANDO, Fla. (Nov. 29, 2011) – Rockwell Collins unveiled its Panorama Glass Front Projection (GFP) display today at I/ITSEC 2011. When coupled with the Rockwell Collins EP™-8000 Image Generator, the Panorama GFP display provides trainees with a level of visual scene content and display performance fidelity that was previously unavailable.

“With ever increasing demands for higher fidelity training, Panorama GFP brings an innovative visual display solution to the training environment for aircrews that further shrinks the gap between the real world and the simulated,” said LeAnn Ridgeway, vice president and general manager of Simulation & Training Solutions for Rockwell Collins.

Features of the Panorama GFP with the EP-8000 include:

  • Rich scene content for highly realistic representation of terrain and features to enhance training value
  • Elimination of the displacement or difference in the apparent position of an object viewed along two  different lines of sight for landing scenarios and employment of weapons and sensors
  • A scalable, modular architecture
  • A small footprint for restricted space requirements (less than 9 foot ceiling height)
  • Very high resolution image capability
