Mercator is an image distortion correction system that allows fixed matrix projectors to be used in curved screen applications.
It is a full-featured distortion correction component that digitizes the video stream at full 24-bit color depth, 'warps'
the image and delivers it onto the display.
- Automatic distortion calculation based on system configuration
- Polynomial derived distortion algorithm using bi-cubic interpolation optimizes image quality
- Ability to minimize latency to the number of lines of vertical distortion
The latest fourth generation Mercator design encompasses multiple processing functions key to simulation-related application
of image projection, including image re-mapping (distortion), color space transformation (patented), uniformity compensation,
gamma processing, re-scaling and image combination.
This card may be integrated into a pixel management rack and is designed into the Rockwell Collins 2015HC projector, where
it also implements the patented 4-panel processing algorithm.
