Electronic Blending
DigiBlend is an electronic edge blending system which can be located within the projector or in a separate rack, depending
on the application. Outstanding soft edge blending leaves no join visible to the viewer. Situated at the heart of a display
system, video and synchronization data is received from an image generator which is then processed and transmitted to as many
as 254 projectors.
Key features
- Adjustment of color balance and shading to all channels, optimizing the join between adjacent channels
- Blend gamma correction to compensate for different projector types
- Digital control of blend functions on all four sides of the display channel
- Archiving facility for all system parameters
- Saving on installation cabling
Optical Blending
OptiBlend is a patented optical edge blending system which includes black level blending of fixed matrix projectors.
Virtually all off-the-shelf light valve projectors have an inherent problem with black level. This is due to stray light reflected
internally in the projector. The issue is apparent with multi-channel displays where images need to be overlapped, in essence
doubling up the black level, which creates a visible seam. With proper engineering of the light path, however, this limitation
can be overcome. With our OptiBlend technology, we add a blending mask to the light path that is calibrated to match the display
resolution and then tuned to the curve of the sphere. The mask is easily adjustable on site to create a virtually invisible
seam.
