The Rockwell Collins auto-alignment system minimizes the maintenance overhead in multichannel projection systems. It bases
all of its processing on a display system model within the software, which details the theoretical display layout as a starting
point for calculations and corrections.
The software is configurable with many different alignment profiles and can be developed and customized for use on any projector.
A significant reduction in maintenance time can be achieved, compared to traditional alignment methods on multi-channel systems.
Overall system downtime can be reduced to much lower levels than manually-aligned systems.
Key features
- Geometry and channel edge matching
- Full system color management
- Black level matching
- Blend geometry calculation and profile adjustment
- Diagnostic feedback, e.g. on lamp degradation
The auto-alignment hardware module consists of a highly sensitive camera, mounted on an accurate pan/tilt positioning unit.
Reference devices are installed to provide accurate geometric reference points for the system at all times.
In addition, if you are looking for a fully integrated user interface to the display system, the auto-alignment functionality
is built into Rockwell Collins' Cobra software suite. Cobra manages the display system and allows full manual control of the
projectors, pixel management devices such as Rockwell Collins Mercator and any other controllable devices within the display
system (for example, image generators for test-patterns and contrast management filters).
