Rockwell Collins is currently developing an FAA Level D, Full Flight Simulator (FFS) and Level 5 Flight Training Device (FTD) for the new Bombardier Challenger 300 Business Jet (BD-100). This device will be delivered to the Bombardier Training Center at DFW Airport, Texas. Rockwell Collins is developing the BD-100 devices concurrently with the aircraft development program. The Simulation Host software operates under real-time LINUX on a Pentium COTS processor. The Instructor Operator Station software operates under Windows NT 4.0. The visual system for the Challenger 300 is an Evans and Sutherland 3350GT/SEOS display system. The digital 6-axis motion system is the Thales MK2 and the control loading is Fokker Digital Electric.
