The F-22A Raptor is the first stealthy air-to-air fighter to use integrated avionics, where the weapons management system,
electronic warfare and AN/APG-77 radar work as one. The design of this fighter features reliable and maintainable systems,
as well as a balance of increased speed and range, enhanced offensive and defensive avionics and low observable stealth. The
F-22A Raptor provides improved air dominance and precision ground attack capability for the U.S. Air Force.
As an innovator in field programmable solutions, Rockwell Collins provides modular communications for the F-22A Raptor, including
receivers for Ultra High Frequency/Very High Frequency (U/VHF), Link 16, and single channel and five-channel L-Band. We also
supply Power Amplifiers (PA) to the Raptor's Communication/Navigation/Surveillance (CNS) system. In addition, we supply the
Joint Tactical Information Distribution System (JTIDS) and the Antenna Interface Unit (AIU) to Boeing and Lockheed Martin
for integration onto the F-22A Raptor.
In the displays arena, Rockwell Collins produces the Head Down Displays (HDD) for the F-22A, including the Up-Front Display
(UFD) and Secondary Multi-Function Display (SMFD). Our Projection Primary Multi-Function Display (PPMFD) is a smart 8- x 8-inch
high-performance rear projection display using reflective micro liquid crystal devices.
