The addition of the Rockwell Collins Weapon Data Link (WDL) to precision weapons brings users the capability to engage critical time-sensitive and moving targets in all types of weather conditions. The connectivity with the weapon enables the warfighter to expand their delivery options in near real-time. The WDL is a networked data link solution that provides in-flight retargeting, bomb hit indication, weapon target handover and programmability. Rockwell Collins' experience in communications, waveform development and networking further demonstrates our commitment to providing flexible solutions with multiple functions.

The WDL can apply to precision guidance and missile interception applications. It is also interoperable with a variety of existing waveforms, such as Link 16, Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Demand Assigned Single Access (DASA) and UHF Line of Sight Frequency Modulation (FM) Frequency Shift Key (FSK). Additionally, it is fully Software Communication Architecture (SCA) compatible to enable software upgrades in advanced network waveforms as well as waveforms for future supportability.
