Rockwell Collins has a long and impressive track record of designing and manufactruing optics for inter-satellite communication links for leading satellite sensor contractors. We provide both design and manufacture-to-specification as well as a build-to-print service. Both low and high volume production quantities are produced.
We have applied this expertise in the development of a revolutionary compact optical transceiver called the HyperscopeTM. The Hyperscope transceiver is smaller, weighs less and has higher performance than laser communication telescopes currently in use. Its applications include "last mile/free space" telecommunication, inter-satellite, and battlefield theater communications.
The Hyperscope transceiver can be adapted for use at most laser wavelengths. It is also scalable up to a 24-inch aperture. Several receivers can be arranged in a matrix to greatly reduce the required pointing accuracy for a robust battlefield application.
