Rockwell Collins multi-region satellite TV system and new moving maps to be available on the Thales in-flight entertainment system

SEATTLE (September 21, 2004) - Rockwell Collins announced today the signing of a non-exclusive agreement with Thales to offer Rockwell Collins multi-region satellite TV system and new moving map product on the Thales TopSeries IFE system. The products will be demonstrated at WAEA in both the Rockwell Collins’ exhibit (#901) and Thales’ exhibit (#1101).

Rockwell Collins’ new Airshow 4200 and 4200i offer major advancements in features, functionality and look-and-feel over previous map products.  The full-featured multimedia platform incorporates a wide variety of capabilities, including 3-D route maps, full-motion video, real-time news feeds, connecting gate information, and point-of-interest media libraries. Passengers can access and control maps and flight information at their seat including points of interest, news, weather, flight status, connecting gate information and more.

The Tailwind 560 system is designed to meet airlines’ operational and performance demands,  and offers up to 32 independent outputs for program selection including news, movies, sports and family programming from broadcasters in the contiguous United States, Europe and the Middle East.  The Tailwind 560 is a new generation product that leverages the experience gained from hundreds of Tailwind systems already fielded in the business and VIP aircraft market.
