Rockwell Collins awarded contract for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Helmet Mounted Display development

SAN JOSE, Calif. (November 03, 2003) - Rockwell Collins (NYSE:COL), a leader in advanced display technology, announced today that it has received a contract from Vision Systems International LLC (VSI) for the development of VSI’s advanced Helmet Mounted Display (HMD) for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Aircraft.

Under this development contract Rockwell Collins’ Kaiser Electronics business will develop and deliver HMD assets to support the F-35 JSF development and integration laboratories, the F-35 simulators, and the F-35 flight-test platforms.  The contract covers JSF System Development and Demonstration (SDD) phase, and the planning for low rate initial production and subsequent full-rate production phases.

“Our experience designing and manufacturing HMDs will allow us to provide the F-35 pilot with the most advanced HMD in the fleet,” stated Donna Potter, director, Kaiser Electronics helmet programs.
