Rockwell Collins Aviation Services Receives Award for Business Innovation

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (May 01, 2002) - Rockwell Collins Aviation Services has received the 2002 MRO Charles B. Ryan Award for Business Innovation in the Supplier Category. The award was presented recently at the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) conference in Phoenix, Arizona, by the publication Aviation Week & Space Technology.

Collins Aviation Services was cited as having redefined its service business using Lean Electronics to create customer value by improving reliability and quality, reducing cycle time, and developing innovative guaranteed performance services to enhance customer success. The results have included a 10% improvement in repair turnaround time while simultaneously increasing quality.

The Charles B. Ryan Award honors those responsible for finding new ways to improve operations and service, profits, products, efficiency, and effectiveness while sustaining or improving safety and technical proficiency.
