Rockwell Collins Receives $18 million award for JSOW/Harpoon Net Enabled Weapon Data Link

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (September 19, 2007) - Rockwell Collins has been selected by Raytheon Missile Systems for design, development and production of their Strike Common Weapon Data Link Program. The contract is valued at $18 million.

The Strike Common Weapon Data Link Program, sponsored by the U.S. Navy, PMA-201, upgrades the Joint Stand Off Weapon (JSOW) and Harpoon weapon systems with a network enabled data link capability. This new capability provides the warfighter with the ability to provide target updates, retarget the weapon while in flight and abort, and provides bomb hit indication (BHI). Because the data link is networked, the weapon control capabilities go well beyond conventional point-to-point launch platform-to-weapon communications.
