Rockwell Collins introduces new features for Airshow 4200 and 4200D

TORONTO (September 17, 2007) - Rockwell Collins is adding several new features to its Airshow 4200 moving map display and flight information system for airlines. The additions will offer passengers an upgraded system with a complete new Atlas Style Map Set, more details on existing maps, as well as new features including a World Clock page, and a Flight Deck Instrument Panel page.

"The customizable features make this an attractive package for airlines to create a map interface that meets the unique needs of their audience."

The Atlas Style Map Set incorporates major highways and highway labels in an illustrative road atlas style. This will complement the existing topographic and photographic map set.

The high focus maps showing close-ups of larger cities have been modified to show an extensive list of details such as city districts, museums and other points of interest on the map route.

The World Clock page is a new feature that presents customizable time clock information for any city around the world.

The Flight Instrument Panel page is another new feature that provides passengers a simulated view of flight deck instruments with a choice of applicable flight parameters, and the choice of analog or digital displays.

All of the features are available via a software upgrade package to existing Airshow 4200 customers.

The Airshow 4200 system offers a full-featured multimedia platform, incorporating a wide variety of capabilities, including 3-D route maps, real-time news feeds, connecting gate information, and points-of-interest media libraries. It captures real-time flight information from the aircraft's flight management computer, long-range navigation system, and aircraft communication systems.  The Airshow 4200 system can use the on-board ACARS connection to retrieve current airport terminal information.  For Airshow Network news feeds such as Wall Street Journal, CNN, BBC, Bloomberg and others, the Airshow 4200 system can connect to the aircraft's communications systems.
