Rockwell Collins UK facility welcomes His Royal Highness The Duke of York

READING, England (January 23, 2007) - His Royal Highness The Duke of York visited Rockwell Collins (UK) Ltd. in Reading today to learn more about the company's latest communications and aviation electronics technology.

His Royal Highness The Duke of York (right) talks with Phil Froom, manager of military sales for Rockwell Collins, about the company's global positioning systems sensor (GPS) technology.

"For more than 50-years, Rockwell Collins' UK facility has been providing innovative aviation electronic and communication solutions to commercial and government customers around the world," said Steve Banham, Managing Director of Rockwell Collins (UK) Ltd.  "We were honored to demonstrate our capabilities and provide His Royal Highness insight to our operations in the United Kingdom."

The Duke of York visited in his role as Special Representative for UK Trade and Investment (UKTI). During the visit he received demonstrations of Rockwell Collins' airline flight operations and communications management system, the Link-16 beyond-line-of-sight data link system and military GPS capability.

In addition, he viewed portions of the facility involved with the maintenance and repair of avionics and in-flight entertainment systems.
