Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise selects Rockwell Collins avionics

SINGAPORE (February 21, 2006) - Rockwell Collins has been selected by Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise (SALE) to provide a comprehensive package of communication, navigation and surveillance avionics for up to 20 new Boeing 737 NG aircraft with deliveries beginning in the fourth quarter of 2006. The agreement also includes purchase rights for up to 20 additional aircraft.

"We're proud to be affiliated with SALE, which is well-known as one of the world's premier leasing companies," said Bryan Vester, senior director of airline marketing for Rockwell Collins.

"SALE has earned a reputation for providing competitive, flexible solutions for its global customer base, and the avionics package they have selected represents a robust offering of proven solutions that will provide state-of-the art communication and surveillance, precision navigation and enhanced operational efficiencies to their customers," Vester noted.

Under the terms of the agreement, Rockwell Collins' baseline avionics package for the Boeing 737 NG aircraft includes the GLU-920 Multi-Mode Receiver; the VHF-920 Very High Frequency Transceiver VHF; HFS-900D High Frequency System; LRA-900 Low-range Radio Altimeter; VOR-900 VHF Omnidirectional Range Finder; DME-900 Distance Measuring Equipment and ADF-900 Automatic Direction Finder.

Airlines leasing these aircraft through SALE will also have the option to select Rockwell Collins' WXR-2100 MultiScan Weather Radar, which is the first and only radar that analyzes and determines actual weather hazards, not simply atmospheric moisture content. MultiScan, a fully automatic, hands-free airborne radar system with more than four years of operational experience,  reduces pilot workload and enhances safety and passenger comfort by minimizing unexpected turbulence encounters, and provides optimal clutter free weather detection from the nose of the aircraft to 320 nautical miles.

Other optional equipment includes Rockwell Collins' Traffic Alert Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), Mode S transponder and satellite communications system.
