Rockwell Collins Airshow 4000 achieves key milestones
LAS VEGAS (October 11, 2004) - Rockwell Collins is delivering its new Airshow 4000 next-generation moving map display and flight information system on a
variety of executive business jet aircraft. Earlier this year, Rockwell Collins received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
Supplemental Type Certification (STC) and PMA on the Airshow 4000, after certifying the system on a Gulfstream GIV.
To date, the Airshow 4000 system has been installed on all leading aircraft types, including the Gulfstream 200, Gulfstream
V and Gulfstream 550; Challenger 601, Challenger 604, Challenger 300 and Global Express; Falcon 20, Falcon 900EX and Falcon
2000EX; Hawker 800XP and Hawker 700; Cessna Citation VII; Boeing Business Jet and 747SP; and Airbus A319 and A320.
The Airshow 4000 will be demonstrated at the Rockwell Collins booth, #12159, during the National Business Aircraft Association
(NBAA) Annual Meeting and Convention this week in Las Vegas.
“Rockwell Collins’ Airshow 4000 product team has worked hard to meet each milestone in a timely manner to bring this exciting
new product to market,” said Tim Rayl, senior director, Airshow Systems for Rockwell Collins. “The Airshow 4000 reinforces
our commitment to provide highly reliable and dynamic products that our customers expect from the leader of moving map and
inflight information systems.”
The Airshow 4000 is capable of supporting various multimedia applications, video, audio, text and graphics, which are displayed
on the aircraft’s cabin and flight deck monitors. Real-time flight information from the aircraft’s long-range navigation
and air data systems is processed by the system and the appropriate maps and flight information, as well as real-time news,
stock information, sports and weather, are displayed during flight. The unit is highly customizable and applications can
be individually tailored to meet the needs of customers, including the inclusion of customer-specific map information.
"Owners, customers and crewmembers have been impressed with the performance of the Airshow 4000 system and its flexibility
to cater to the individual preferences of each passenger,” said Christopher Thomas, Lead PIC, Executive Jet Management. “We
use the stock quote feature for our customers and owners. The graphics, ease of use and accuracy of the Airshow 4000 display
and programming is reliable for the crewmembers and entertaining for the customers. It’s a winner on all counts!"
Customers with Airshow Network service will also be able to enjoy the new web-based customer portal, MyAirshow.net, which
allows them to view and edit their account information by individual aircraft and manage their Airshow Network profiles, select
stocks and other financial information.
