Rockwell Collins PAVES® Selected by ILFC as Supplier for Boeing Single Aisle Aircraft

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (December 04, 2001) - Rockwell Collins newest Audio Distribution System (ADS) has been selected by the International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC) as the baseline audio product for the ILFC Boeing 737-NG fleet. The airplanes will be built through December 2007 and Rockwell Collins Programmable Audio and Video Entertainment System (PAVES®) will be the preferred product for customers also choosing video on the aircraft.

The new, universal ADS for Airbus and Boeing customers increases efficiency by reducing weight and power consumption and allows for common components to exist across a mixed fleet of aircraft. In addition, passengers will have the interactive capability of backCHANNEL™, which allows them to use the system for group games and entertainment.

In the six years the PAVES product has been offered it has evolved as customer needs have changed. The platform is installed on over 500 aircraft, and can be enhanced by reducing power consumption and weight, and adding new features and functionality.

To meet the demands of the airline market, these enhancements include the new 10.4-inch Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) retractable monitors; a completely redesigned user interface that allows for simple one-touch operation; In-Seat DVD; and backCHANNEL interactivity.
