Kaiser Electronics to Supply Aircraft Displays for Boeing F-15K
SAN JOSE, Calif. (May 22, 2002) - Kaiser Electronics, a Rockwell Collins business, has been selected by The Boeing Company to supply the cockpit display suite
for the new production F-15K aircraft. The contract award is potentially worth $34 million.
The cockpit display suite will include three five-inch Flat Panel Color Displays (FPCDs), four six-inch Multipurpose Displays
(MPDs) and a Wide Field of View (HFOV) Head Up Display (HUD). The FPCDs and MPDs both use Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display
(AMLCD) technology.
The HUD will be a co-production effort with LG Innotek Co. Ltd. of Korea. Kaiser Electronics has collaborated with LG Innotek
Co, Ltd. to produce the most advanced WFOV Holographic HUD for today's fighter aircraft.
Kaiser Electronics was selected last year by The Boeing Company to supply a five-inch Flat Panel Color Display (FPCD) for
the U.S. Air Force Boeing F-15E program. The F-15K displays will be retrofit compatible with the USAF and international inventory
of F-15 aircraft.
