Rockwell Collins Selected as the Avionics Communications Router Supplier for Airbus A380

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (June 11, 2002) - Rockwell Collins' avionics communications router (ACR) has been selected to provide software for datalink capability on the Airbus A380.

The ACR is an on-board system that provides comprehensive and flexible datalink connectivity between the aircraft and ground-based systems. It manages the datalink and routes data traffic through the appropriate communication means, supports the airborne communications addressing and reporting system communication protocol (ACARS/AOA), and provides provisions for the future aeronautical telecommunications network (ATN).
