U.S. Navy selects Rockwell Collins to supply antenna equipment
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (July 08, 2003) - Rockwell Collins has been awarded a $4.5 million contract by U.S. Naval Air Systems Command to supply Antenna Tensioner Reeling
Machines (ATRM). The machines will support the Navy's E-6B ABNCP/TACAMO fleet.
The ATRM is a unique set of ground support equipment used at the organizational maintenance level to remove and install trailing
wire antennas (up to 28,000 feet in length) on the E-6B's VLF/LF High Power Transmit Set, which was also developed and supplied
by Rockwell Collins.
Rockwell Collins will initially deliver a first article ATRM. Follow-on options and production of an additional five ATRMs
could increase the contract value to more than $10 million. The delivery period is scheduled to begin this year and run through
2005.
The ATRM program will be performed by Rockwell Collins Government Systems' engineering and manufacturing operation in Richardson,
Texas.
