Air Hong Kong selects Rockwell Collins avionics systems for new aircraft
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (July 10, 2003) - Rockwell Collins has been awarded a contract to provide avionics systems for new Air Hong Kong aircraft. The contract calls
for the installation of Rockwell Collins communications and navigation systems on six new Air Hong Kong A300-600 aircraft,
with options on four additional aircraft. Aircraft deliveries are scheduled to begin in the latter part of 2004.
"Rockwell Collins is proud to be selected as the communication and navigation system supplier for these new Air Hong Kong
aircraft," said Randy Lincoln, vice president of Sales for Rockwell Collins Commercial Systems. "We look forward to a long
and mutually successful relationship with this important customer."
Among the equipment to be provided is the Collins GLU-920 Multi-Mode Receiver (MMR). Rockwell Collins' MMR is an integrated
unit that provides the aircraft's primary position, velocity and time reference. The Collins MMR is fully interoperable with
global navigation and landing system requirements, including ILS, VHF Omnidirectional Range (VOR), MLS, GPS, and GLS to meet
current and future airspace requirements.
