Bad weather doesn't hinder Melbourne celebration

Bad weather didn't keep employees at Rockwell Collins in Melbourne, Fla., from celebrating their fiscal year 2007 accomplishments.

Despite the fact the annual year-end event had to be moved indoors due to high winds, nearly all of the facility's 1,400 employees attended the Oktoberfest-style luncheon.

"Events like these are great," said Tandy Copps, a senior administrative assistant in Melbourne. "They let you get away from your desk and provide you with an opportunity to talk to people you haven't seen in awhile. They're a real morale booster as well."

Jeff Moore, senior vice president of Operations, and John Danley, vice president of Manufacturing Operations, were among the members of management who served employees with German-inspired food including marinated pork loin, sauerkraut, and Bavarian sweet red cabbage.
