SFS-1000A: SFS-1000A Fly Away System

Our world class RF products have been combined with other products into a single ruggedized container to produce a SubNet Relay (SNR) Fly Away System (SFS). The first variant of the SFS is the SFS-1000A, which makes possible the rapid deployment of the HF/VHF/UHF ad-hoc networking that has made SNR renowned in the naval community.

SFS-1000A Components
1	Ruggedized Case:	Military/industrial case manufactured of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, offering maximum impact protection. The 8U variant of the case is used for the SFS-1000A.However, a larger 12U variant is also offered that includes an additional 4U of rack space that could be used to mount larger components such as a link crypto or an ARC-210 radio. Mounting specific items such as non-rackmount radios or cryptos may require specialized hardware. Custom built units with cases up to a total of 16U are available. Contact us for further information.
2	1U LCD Rack Console:	Integrated flat panel TFT display, keyboard, and touchpad pointing device in a compact, rugged, 1U unit. The high-resolution 17" Active Matrix TFT (1280 x 1024 max. resolution) slides out like a drawer, allowing the display to fold up like a notebook computer. Convenient integrated buttons to allow instant switching between the computers connected to the integrated KVM switch shown at 9.
3	Application Server:	Powerful Application Server with at least 3.2 GHz P4, 1GB RAM, 80GB Laptop HDD, DVDRW, 2 x 10/100 MB Ethernet jacks, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, loaded with Win XP Professional.
4	Router & Switch:	Modular access router with 2 x 10/100 MB Ethernet ports. Integrated Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) and VPN support, data compression, a built in firewall, integrated 4 port switch, and much more.
5	SNC-2000	The SNC-2000 allows wireless HF/VHF/UHF users to adaptively form ad hoc networks in a fashion not previously available. This technology makes possible the formation of self-configuring, mobile, multiplatform, multi-hop (up to 5 hops), tactical Internets, using HF/VHF/UHF LOS and ELOS bearers. The SNC also contains Rockwell Collins IP Traffic Manager (IPTM), which is a patent pending TCP Performance Enhancing Proxy (PeP) that drastically improves TCP throughput and reduces unnecessary TCP time outs over high latency, high error, RF and satelite links. It significantly outperforms other TCP PePs like SCPS-TP and PePSal and unlike these other PePs, IPTM does not require a prior knowledge of the network links/topology to work optimally. It supports Ethernet, synchronous serial, and asynchronous serial data interfaces.
6	Spare 1U Space:	Spare 1U rack to mount customer supplied items such as a KIV7-;HSB or KIV-7M crypto unit, another application server, or other.
7	HSM-2000	The HSM-2000 is actually three products in one: the highest performance HF/VHF/UHF modem currently available in narrowband RF channels up to 25 kHz, a world class HF Channel Simulator, and remote radio interoperability unit bridging HF/VHF/UHF radio networks for voice or synchronous data. It supports most major HF standards with rates up to 9.6 kbps skywave/16 kbps surface wave in 3kHz (SSB) and 19.2kbps skywave/32 kbps surface wave in 6 kHk (ISB). In V/UHF user data rates in a single 25 kHz channel go up to 96 kbps (coded) with the autobaud capable waveform.
8	1500 VA UPS:	1500VA USB and Serial RM 2U 120V with 6 output connectors (NEMA 5-;15P). Comes with management software and front panel LED status display for control and management.
10 11	Custom Rack Rails & Accessories	Custom rack rails on the SDCP and server chassis and a plate connected behind the UPS are provided to increase overall unit stability and to provide storage and mounting points to fasten cables.
