The PR-2025 is a digitally tuned, band-pass filter that provides 35
dB of attenuation to frequencies 10% or greater above or below its tuned frequency.
It may be tuned over the frequency range of 1.6 to 30 MHz. Ultimate attenuation
is greater than 70 dB.
DESCRIPTION
The HF pre/post-selector is can be used to enhance the performance of
companion receivers and exciters. As a receiver pre-selector, it rejects strong
out-of-band signals from near by transmitters. A low-noise preamplifier can
be switched in to improve receiver sensitivity.
The PR-2025 can also be used as an exciter post-selector. It attenuates
exciter broadband noise and low level spurious at the input of an associated
power amplifier. A single PR-2025 can perform both pre-selector and post-selector
functions in a transceiver HF system.
The PR-2025 is a member of the URG-III product line of HF communications
equipment. It is designed to be used with the RT-2200 receiver-exciter and
receives control signals from that equipment.
KEY FEATURES/USER BENEFITS
Automatically tuned band-pass filter to provide additional
selectivity for receiver RF inputs (pre-selector) and exciter RF outputs (post-selector)
Operates as a pre-selector, post-selector or pre/post-selector
in split-site or transceiver applications
Pre/post-selector operation includes both single-frequency
(simplex) and split-frequency (half duplex) capability
1.6- to 30-MHz continuous frequency coverage in 10 kHz steps
35 dB attenuation of signals separated from tuned frequency
by ±10% or greater
70 dB ultimate rejection of off-frequency signals
Protection against large received signals of up to 200 V RF
at the antenna input connector
Low-noise preamplifier can be switched into the receive path
to compensate for the filter insertion loss
Entire filter can be bypassed for operation outside the 1.6-30
MHz tuning range while retaining the 200 volt overload protection
Post-selector permits operation at exciter levels to 100 mW
Mounts in a standard 19-inch rack or cabinet
Controlled and monitored via standard EIA data bus from the
RT-2200
Built-In Test (BIT) routines quickly isolate any operating
problems
Ruggedized components permit operation at ambient temperatures
up to 50 degrees Celsius
