IPTM
IP Traffic Manager (IPTM-2000 & IPTM-2050)

Building on our long tradition of world class Radio Frequency (RF) and Satellite networking products, IP Traffic Manager (IPTM) is a TCP performance enhancer that very significantly improves TCP performance over long latency and high error wireless networks. IPTM makes the use of TCP not only realistic, but desirable, over HF/VHF/UHF radio and satellite networks where it was previously ruled out.

KEY FEATURES
  • IPTM is a patent pending TCP Performance Enhancing Proxy (PeP) that drastically improves TCP throughput over high latency, high error, RF and satellite links.
  • Keeps TCP from timing out and dropping TCP connections unnecessarily, even in very low rate, high error link conditions.
  • Lossless, on-the-fly, data compression built-in.
  • Significantly outperforms other TCP PePs like SCPS-TP and PePSal.
  • Unlike SCPS-TP and PePSal, IPTM does not require a prior knowledge of the network links/topology to work optimally. As such, IPTM is much better suited to adhoc networks with dynamic link qualities.
  • IPTM is completely transparent to the end-user workstation. Unlike other TCP PePs, with IPTM there is no need for proprietary software on any workstation. Each workstation uses standard TCP.
  • IPTM maintains important end-to-end TCP semantics like the ToS field that are essential to maintain end-to-end QoS services like connection priority.
  • Works in networks with IP encryptors.
  • Seamless pass through of UDP traffic.
  • Successfully tested at-sea by several major world naval forces.
