KEY FEATURES/USER BENEFITS
The HF-CPS program is a software tool that can be used to set up and
to manage simple-to-complex HF ALE communications networks and related databases.
HF-CPS runs on standard Microsoft Windows 2000 ® and Windows XP ®
operating systems. HF-CPS allows users to design, maintain, and manage the daily operation
of an HF ALE network on a much higher level by automating many of the complex
and time consuming tasks associated with generating operationally compatible
but uniquely different datafill files for each HF ALE radio in a network.
OVERVIEW
The HF-CPS™ program is a software tool used to manage HF ALE communication
networks. The program assists the user to design, maintain, and manage the
daily operation of an HF ALE network by automating many of the complex and
time-consuming tasks associated with generating inter-operable but uniquely
different datafill files for each HF ALE radio in the HF ALE communications
network, reducing the chances of human error. The software provides maximum flexibility, ease of maintenance, and
straightforward distribution of inter-operable HF ALE network data by creating
and managing multiple supporting databases. The User Access database contains "User Names," "Passwords"
and related data access level information needed by the HF-CPS™ software
to enforce three password-protected data access levels. A separate Systems database contains the detailed information about
the various HF ALE radio types supported by the HF-CPS™ software. The
software automatically configures itself to accommodate the combination of
communication systems capabilities. The software is capable of supporting
a large selection of different radio types. The Master database stores the user entered authorized frequency and
HF ALE addresses data, as well as other critical network information. Once
the HF ALE network information is entered in the Master database, the data
never has to be re-entered again, greatly reducing the potential for human
error. The Operations database contains user-selected subsets of Master database
information and applies that data in the generation of datafill files that
support a particular communications mission. The HF-CPS™ software automatically
manages the links between the Master and Operations databases to ensure database
integrity is maintained. Since HF ALE networks use multiple radio types in a common HF ALE network
environment; it becomes necessary to deal with different sets of programmable
parameters unique for each different radio type. As different radio types
are added to a network, the HF-CPS™ user may change the complement of
selected radio types to include the new radios. The software automatically
reconfigures to accommodate the selected combination of radio types. Once
configured for the combination of radios in use, the user never needs to worry about
the programming differences between the different radio types. The HF-CPS™
software automatically outputs inter-operable datafill files with the correct
format and content for each radio type. The HF-CPS™ program is a stand-alone program that runs on an IBM
compatible personal computer (PC) in the Windows 2000 ®, or Windows XP
® operating environment. Each CD includes Propman 2000™, HF propogation prediction and
frequency planning software.
