Spot Beam consists of a Windows PC-based client/server software package that provides a video processing/dissemination/storage/retrieval and display capability for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). The Spot Beam software package includes FalconView plug-in client software (EagleView) that provides a situational awareness display for remote operators. Spot Beam allows video metadata to be easily downlinked or remoted. For on-going sorties the continuous real-time location of the EO/IR sensor, and the video sensor field of view are presented on the user’s map display. The user selects video segments of interest, and commands the remote video server (Spot Beam) to retrieve and disseminate the segments to him (reach back, smart pull) using much less bandwidth than would be required by streaming the entire video in real time. The segments are displayed on the user’s PC within minutes of collection. The user has access to segments or single frames of video. Multiple users can annotate related video frames and collaborate for improved intelligence.
