DESCRIPTION
Rockwell Collins DU-9802 LCD Display
The DU-9800 is an ARINC-D sized active matrix liquid-crystal display
offering a complete range of display options. This 6.8 x 6.9 inch active area
display is ideally suited for installation in new aircraft or for upgrading
existing CRT or electromechanical instruments. It features unprecedented optical
performance.
The DU-9802 offers CRT-like optical performance, multiple-image merging,
6-bit grayscale resolution, fully anti-alias symbology, and more. It is optically
reconfigurable and provides a cost-effective, technically efficient solution
to your cockpit display needs. The DU-9802 extends to a wide range of applications. Adapters allow
use of the display in numerous aircraft types.
Modularity
The DU-9802 design incorporates three different modules that adapt to
different display architectures. The display-head module contains the LCD,
backlight, backlight controller, and thermal management.
The integrated card-set module includes the processor, I/O, and the
graphics hardware. The rear-interconnect module contains the power supply
and the rear interconnections. These modules can be used in different combinations
to quickly meet the needs of different applications. The DU-9802 Family of Displays is available with discrete control panel
or bezel mounted mode controls.
Multiple Imaging Functionality
The DU-9802 can support multiple imaging functions including anti-alias
vector symbology, video, shaded areas, ARINC-708A weather radar, cursor control,
and more. These imaging functions can be merged together in any combination
to form a composite image on the display.
A finite element optimization of the pin-fin heat exchanger, minimized
thermal paths, and active thermal-management control provide an efficient,
passively cooled backlight.
