DTU-7000
PCMCIA Data Transfer System

KEY FEATURES/USER BENEFITS
Data Transfer System for a Wide Array of Mission and Flight Management Data

  • PCMCIA/PCIO-based
  • Supports two type I or type II cards
  • Supports SRAM, flash and ATA cards
  • Supports 3.3 and 5 volt cards
  • Multiple interfaces
  • 1553 file transfer
  • 10/100 Base T Ethernet
  • ARINC 615A transfer protocol (Ethernet)

OVERVIEW

The DTU-7000 PCMCIA (PC Card) Receptacle is an intelligent microprocessor-based unit that permits access to aeronautical worldwide data bases as well as mission specific data. It provides two PC Card sockets and communications over 100 base Ethernet or the MIL-STD-1553B data bus. The unit will accept both 3.3 and 5 volt commercially available Type I or II memory cards.

The DTU-7000 was designed to replace the DR-200 while adding more processing power and Ethernet capability for higher transfer rates of data. The DTU-7000 provides connector and software compatibility with the DR-200 and the previous US Army standard DR-902 data receptacles and cartridges.

With the high transfer rate capability and increased processing power of the DTU-7000, functions such as digital moving maps and video recording can be incorporated into the DTU-7000. The DTU-7000 uses the same open systems architecture processor used in all Rockwell Collins Flight 2 products.

DESCRIPTION

Features
Description of the DTU-7000 capabilities are shown below.
  • The aircraft bus-controller controls all DTU-7000 operations using either Ethernet or MIL-STD-1553B messages.
  • The DTU-7000's Operational Flight Program is loaded directly from one of the PC Card sockets
  • The DTU-7000 provides a method to zeroize all information stored on a mission data PC Card through both discrete and software commands
  • Hardware interfaces include MIL-STD-1553B, Discrete I/O, and Ethernet.
  • To provide backward capability; the unit performs read and write services in the same manner as the Rockwell Collins DR-200 and DR-902 data receptacle
  • The DTU-7000 strictly observes the use of sub-addresses and bus timing to ensure true compatibility
