OVERVIEW
The CDU-900 incorporates the features of the CDU-800 series CDU/CDNU,
while providing powerful new capabilities.
DESCRIPTION
The CDU-900 provides powerful built-in processing capability and expansion
capacity for embedded functions or interfaces to external equipment. An embedded
military P(Y)-Code Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver/processor is the
first available expansion module for the CDU-900. The embedded receiver consists of a GEM II or GEM III (GPS Embedded
Module) receiver/processor and accompanying adapters designed to fill two
of the three available expansion slots in the CDU-900. Additional expansion
modules planned for the CDU-900 include processor and memory modules, various
digital, analog or discrete interface modules for non MIL-STD-1553B applications,
and modem/ data link modules. The standard and expansion capabilities of the
CDU-900 make it an ideal selection for integration and control of avionics for
both rotary and fixed-wing aircraft.
