KEY FEATURES/USER BENEFITS
The Rockwell Collins ARC-220 HF-CPS application is a personal computer
(PC) based software tool that can be used to set up and to manage simple-to-complex
HF ALE communications networks and related databases. ARC-220 HF-CPS runs
on a PC using standard Microsoft Windows 2000™® and Windows XP™®
operating systems. ARC-220 HF-CPS allows users to design, maintain, and manage the daily
operation of an HF ALE network on a much higher level by automating many of
the complex and time consuming tasks associated with generating datafill files
for each ARC-220 HF ALE radio in a network. ARC-220 HF-CPS drastically reduces
the amount database and datafill development and maintenance time when compared
to the Rockwell Collins HF-CPS™ for ARC-220 radios. Reduced ARC-220 and VRC-100 Datafill and Database Creation
Time Compared to Standard HF-CPS™ by approximately 60%. Makes a Tough Job Easier and Helps Preclude Human Error Provides Multiple Output File Formats Provides Integrated Direct Datafill and Indirect Datafill
Loading Options Each Installation CD includes the Rockwell Collins Propman
2000™, HF propagation prediction and frequency planning software.
OVERVIEW
The Rockwell Collins ARC-220 HF-CPS program is a PC-based software application
used to manage HF ALE communication networks. The application assists the
user to design, maintain, and manage the daily operation of an HF ALE network
by automating many of the complex and time-consuming tasks associated with
generating datafill files. Users can create a "common" datafill
file to be loaded into multiple common platforms, as well as interoperable
but unique datafill files for each ARC-220 or VRC-100 radio in the HF ALE communications
network. The software provides maximum flexibility, ease of maintenance, and
straightforward distribution of HF ALE network data by creating and managing
a single database. The database contains the detailed information about the ARC-220 radio
as supported by the ARC-220 HF-CPS software. The database stores the user
entered authorized frequency and HF ALE address data, as well as other critical
network information. If users have frequency or address data stored in a
Microsoft Excel™ spreadsheet, that data may be exported to tab delimited
text files, which can, in turn, be imported into the ARC-220 HF-CPS database.
Once the HF ALE network information is entered in the database, the data never
has to be re-entered again; it is simply selected for use. This greatly reduces
the potential for human error. The previously entered data is used in the
generation of datafill files that support a particular communications mission. The ARC-220 HF-CPS program is a stand-alone application that runs on
an IBM compatible personal computer (PC) in the Windows 2000™, or Windows
XP™ operating environment. Each ARC-220 HF-CPS installation CD includes the Rockwell Collins Propman
2000™, HF propagation prediction and frequency planning software.
