KEY OWNER/USER BENEFITS Three LRU's make up this System An 8 MCU SRT-2100B SATCOM receiver / transmitter weighing
only 13.1 kg Provides three classic Aero H, H+, or I channels for voice,
facsimile and low-speed PC data over the entire surface of the earth, except
for polar regions A 2 MCU HST-2110B equipped with ISDN, ISDN over Ethernet,
Ethernet and RS-232 for maximum operator flexibility And a small HCM-2100B Identity Module
OVERVIEW
The Collins SRT-2100B is a compact lightweight and economic satellite
communications offering. The SRT-2100B incorporates the traditional functions
of the high-power amplifier (HPA), radio frequency unit (RFU) and satellite
data unit (SDU) within a single 8 MCU package. It operates multi-channel voice,
facsimile and low-speed PC data capability. The SRT-2100B also enables up
to two simultaneous Swift64 or SwiftBroadband channels using its HST-2110B
and HCM-2100B companions. Using its ARINC 741 electrical interface, the SRT-2100B
interfaces with all industry standard high-gain antenna systems.
DESCRIPTION
The SRT-2100B Satellite Receiver/Transmitter houses the radio frequency
unit, satellite data unit and high-power amplifier. Novel management software
monitors and controls the power between the Aero and Swift Services to ensure
safety services integrity. The HST-2110B enables Inmarsat's Swift64 service providing bi-directional 64 kbps packet data and up to 432 kbps SwiftBroadband
service enabling services such as internet and e-mail access. The HCM-2100 houses the USIM identity cards which allows the HST to
log into the SwiftBroadband network. A single HCM-2100B is all this is required
to support up to two HST-2100B USIM cards.
OPERATION AND PERFORMANCE
The SRT-2100B operates using the Inmarsat constellation of geosynchronous
communications satellites to enable Aero-H, Aero-H+, Swift64 and SwiftBroadband
services. Ground earth stations provide links to the public switched telephone
network for bidirectional calling, facsimile and data communications. The SRT-2100B operates with three Aero channel modules. The SRT-2100Bs
architecture allows it to operate in the event of a channel module failure,
capable of voice, fax and PC data operation, by removing the failed module
from the channel module pool and engaging other modules. A single operational
module will support essential data communications such as ACARS or AFIS. Additionally,
up to two simultaneous channels of Swift64 or SwiftBroadband service can also
be operated using the companion HST-2110B. The Inmarsat network is suitable for air traffic services that enable
the SAT-2100B to provide access to FANS services for preferred airspace routing
and clearances in oceanic regions.
