OVERVIEW

from data communications, to entertainment and cabin amenities. In the hangar,
it is about controlling time and getting the job done correctly, efficiently,
and quickly. When it is all about control, it is all about the Rockwell Collins
Cabin Management System.
DESCRIPTION
A unique combination of innovation and evolution with significant customer
input added, CMS includes a complete package of innovative switch
panels, controllers and distributors all fully tested and integrated. The
system controls a variety of source equipment and functions, from moving maps
to real-time information and entertainment
sources to environmental systems. Exclusive options for controlling cabin
functions include a 3.8-inch color touchscreen switch panel and a color touchscreen
handheld remote. The backbone of CMS consists of a network of controllers,
audio-video distributors, and remote receivers. The system controllers receive
signals from the switches that enable users to operate lights, adjust temperature
and select entertainment throughout the cabin. Distributors respond to switch
commands that send audio and video signals to different areas in the aircraft.
Handheld remote controls using wireless RF enable system control from anywhere
in the aircraft. All are available from the single-source provider of the complete cabin
experience - Rockwell Collins. The most visible part of CMS is the user interface - the
switch panel. Available in multiple configurations for the VIP, personal user
and galley, CMS switch panels are durable and easy to install.
Cabin and galley switches can be used to control cabin environmental functions
such as lighting, window shades and heating and cooling, as well as entertainment
components including TV, DVD and CD players, speakers and more. Designed for in-the-field updates, all CMS controllers and distributors
utilize a central access point that allows for system upgrades via a standard
PC-compatible serial port for a laptop computer. The system also offers centralized
diagnostics to facilitate simple, minimally invasive service and maintenance.

truly deserve. Extremely adaptable for both user and installer, the system undergoes
thorough integration and testing of all components and source equipment before
ever leaving the factory. Larger VIP aircraft may require additional program
