KEY OWNER/USER BENEFITS Topographical maps combined with geopolitical borders, city
names and points-of-interest Topographic or photographic maps are available in a variety
of resolutions and six different areas of coverage that span the globe Up-to-the-minute information on your current flight status
(altitude, ground speed, time to destination, outside temperature, etc.) is
displayed in the cabin Up to 25 languages for map place-names and flight information
displays are available Perspective maps allow you to see the world much as it would
appear from the flight deck on a clear day The Relative Location Indicator (RLI) can be presented to
show distance to cities, fixed points such as Mecca (Makkah) or corporate
headquarters
OVERVIEW
The Airshow 410 provides the business traveler with a precise sense
of time and place. Real-time aircraft locations, flight time, points-of-interest,
altitude and safety briefings enhance the business traveler's flying experience.
Real-time graphic processing delivers maps of impeccable detail.
DESCRIPTION
The Airshow 410 represents the long-time standard for moving map technology,
providing travelers with detailed graphics that vividly show flight progress. Maps blend high resolution with broad coverage. Color enhanced maps,
using actual satellite images, give passengers a more realistic view of the
terrain they are flying over. Satellite data is merged with enhanced terrain elevation to provide
an accurate, photo-realistic image of the earth's geography at any location.
Maps show geopolitical borders and city place names to give a detailed view
of your flight path. Maps are available in worldwide or six different regions
of coverage that span the globe. Atlas time zone mode answers "what time is it?" The interactive
Atlas feature lets passengers zoom in on map locations that they want to explore
- or check the current local time at any city on the map. It's as easy as
pointing and clicking a mouse button. Overhead perspective map views give a unique view of the ground terrain.
Perspective views portray simulated terrain as it would appear from the flight
deck on a clear day. Your company logo, aircraft photograph or artwork can be rendered in
stunning detail. Custom graphics can be used to display personal messages
or greetings such as "Welcome Aboard." Audio messages can be recorded
and stored digitally along with static graphics to be displayed simultaneously
for a complete audio / visual presentation. Audio briefings may be activated by the pilot or flight attendant at
any time through aircraft discrete switches or optional Flight Deck Controller.
OPERATION AND PERFORMANCE
The Airshow 410 outputs text and graphic information for aircraft cabin
display and is available in a standard ½ATR package. It is powered
from the onboard +28 V DC avionics bus. Video Outputs NTSC Composite, 75 Ohm Digital and Analog Inputs The Airshow 410 reads digital and analog signals from onboard aircraft
navigation systems and can read from up to three 2-wire ARINC 419/429 (software
configurable) digital data busses and one 6-wire ARINC 419 bus. If the aircraft's
avionics digital navigation and air data systems do not provide the necessary
labels for OAT and altitude, the Airshow 410 accepts SAT from ARINC 565 air
data source and altitude information via the 10-bit Gray code. If the time
to destination label is not present on the digital navigation system, the
Flight Deck Controller allows the pilot to manually enter the flight parameters. Airshow 410 Display Features For the cabin display, the selection, composition and sequence of video
pictures and audio briefings are defined by the customer at the time the Airshow
410 is ordered. These can include: geographic maps of the route of flight
showing real-time aircraft position, previous flight path and planned route;
multi-language place-names for maps; multi-language text pages of real-time
flight information (e.g., ground speed, altitude, temperature, distances and
times); custom graphics, including customer logos or announcements; audio
briefings for safety and/or personal announcements (controlled from the flight
deck with an optional Flight Deck Controller). Content Loading The Airshow 410 allows the loading of customized content and software
updates via a solid state compact flash card, allowing for quicker and more
reliable loading than previous CD-ROM technology.
OPTIONAL PERIPHERALS Flight Deck Controller (FDC) The FDC is mounted by DZUS standard single width fasteners and is used
to monitor and change various customer-requested features, including: Time
to destination; Greenwich Mean Time; destination airport; mode display; graphic
display (multiple logos); and languages. The FDC is also the device used to
control audio briefings. Digital Cockpit Controller (DCC) The DCC provides the same functions as the FDC but in a different form
factor. It may be used in place of the FDC.
