OVERVIEW

The Pro Line II ADF-462 Automatic Direction Finder is a totally digital ADF system that offers a new level of reliability. Regional airliners and business aircraft including jets, turboprops and helicopters will benefit from this high reliability. The result of extensive use of microprocessors is fewer total parts.


DESCRIPTION

The ADF-462 system consists of an ADF-462 receiver and an integrated loop and sense antenna unit. The ANT-462A antenna is for a single ADF-462 receiver, and the ANT-462B is for dual installations.

The pilot tunes the ADF-462 with a companion control and gets maximum use of all the system's features by using the Pro Line II CTL-62 and a Commercial Standard Data Bus (CSDB). You can also use a control or Flight Management System that uses ARINC 429 serial digital signals to control the radio.

Digital outputs are available on two ARINC 429 ports and two CSDB ports. Each port provides complete output information at all times.

The receiver also provides one analog output that makes it possible to interface directly with an RMI-36 or equivalent radio magnetic indicator.
