OVERVIEW
The
Rockwell Collins Maintenance Access Terminal provides the human-machine interface
for the on-board airplane maintenance system.
DESCRIPTION
The MAT-2000 system consists of a Maintenance Access Terminal (MAT-2000),
Keyboard Unit (KBU-950), Hard Disk Drive (HDD-2000) and the Operational Program
Software (OPS-2000). This architecture offers significant weight, space and
power savings compared to previous systems. Hardware: Maintenance Access Terminal (MAT-2000) - The
Maintenance Access Terminal is the system unit that contains the LCD display,
main graphics, BITE computer processors, Ethernet connections, nonvolatile
and dynamic memories, compact disk and floppy disk drives, cursor control
trackball and power supply. The MAT-2000 is a line replaceable unit. Hard Disk Drive (HDD-2000) - The Hard
Disk Drive module is a 320MB (minimum) formatted hard drive. HDD-2000 is a
line replaceable module. Keyboard Unit (KBU-950) - The Keyboard
Unit provides operator input into the MAT workstation. KBU-950 connects directly
to the aircraft wiring. Software: Operational Program Software - Operational
Program Software is an open system software environment that enables the MAT
hardware to serve as an interface to maintenance applications. OPS-2000 provides
the operating system and Windows functions for the MAT system through a graphical
user interface on a real-time operating system. Functions include Main Menu,
Self Data Load and BITE. The OPS-2000 is distributed on diskette and is preinstalled
on the MAT-2000.
