LFDS: Large Format Display System

The LFDS utilizes 8-inch (D-size), color Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Displays (AMLCD) (DU-9801) to provide the EFIS and EICAS functions for the 767-400ER cockpit. The DU-9801 display provides the Primary Flight Display (PFD) formats, Navigation Display (ND) formats, selected Multiple Function Display (MFD) formats, and optional Round Dial Altimetry format as well as the Over/Under Engine Indications and Central Crew Alerting formats. This single unit can be used interchangeably for each of the six EFIS and EICAS display positions in the cockpit panel.

The DU-9801 units are interfaced to three Display Processing Computers (DPC-9800). These DPC-9800 units provide the electrical interfaces between the DU-9801 and the aircraft systems. The LFDS intrasystem interfaces utilize an Ethernet based interface to provide point to point communications. The analog interfaces and other system interface data signals are concentrated by the Data Concentration Computer (DCC-9800) to provide additional aircraft interface data to the DPC-9800 for data processing.

The EICAS Display Select Panel (DSP-9800) is used to select the EICAS and MFD formats. The EFIS Display Control Panel (DCP-7000) is used to control the selected PFD and ND formats. This panel is a variant of the IDS-7000 version with added functionality for the 767-400ER.
