OVERVIEW

The Rockwell Collins IGA-2100B is designed to the latest industry standard & optimized for SwiftBroadband operations. The ARINC 781 compliance builds upon a simple & proven installation. The IGA-2100B is ideal for installations seeking a compact system and provides the lowest cost solution for an antenna selection to address safety services and high speed data.


DESCRIPTION

An antenna solution is required to complete the SATCOM system and depending on the services required, the IGA-2100B will provide regional coverage for Aero-I services over Inmarsat-3 satellites, but full coverage (not including polar routes) when logged onto Inmarsat-4 satellites. Full coverage is also provided for SwiftBroadband services via Intermediate Gain Antennas.

Upon Installation, the IGA-2100B facilitates multiple channels of Aero-I & SwiftBroadband services depending on which avionics transceiver it is integrated with.


OPERATION AND PERFORMANCE

The IGA-2100B operates with any of the Inmarsat-3 & 4 constellation of geosynchronous communications satellites.

Inmarsat-3 IGA Services (Regional)

Aero-I:

  • Number of Voice Channels: Up to 5 (depends on SAT-906,SAT-2000/2100, SAT-906B, SAT-2100B, SAT-2200)
  • Indicative Data Rates: Up to 2.4kbps

Inmarsat-4 IGA Services (Worldwide except Polar)

Aero-I:

  • Number of Voice Channels: Up to 5 (depends on SAT-906,SAT-2000/2100, SAT-906B, SAT-2100B, SAT-2200)
  • Indicative Data Rates: Up to 2.4kbps

SwiftBroadband-I: (Via one HST)

  • Number of Voice Channels: Approximately 101 VoIP
  • Indicative Data Rates: "Pay by the Packet Mode": Up to 300kbps2 (Background Class)
  • Indicative Data Rates: "Pay by the Minute Mode": Up to 128kbps3 (Streaming Class)
  • Operation at Elevation Angles < 10 Deg above horizon, not supported (Inmarsat Restriction on all Intermediate Gain Antennas. ie: Operations are supported if flights are between 72 Deg N/S only. Applies To SBB Only)
