OVERVIEW
Collins Data Link AOC development and test tools are specifically designed
to provide the user with a low-cost set of tools for creating, modifying and
testing Airline Operational Control (AOC) applications. Two PC-based software
tools are offered. The Ground Support Equipment (GSE) is an application builder
used to develop or modify an AOC application and create data load disks for
on-aircraft loading of the CMU-900, DLM-900 or ATSU. The ABLE simulator allows
a user to run and evaluate the actual AOC application created by the GSE tool
in a host environment for the non-ATSU equipped aircraft types. The ABLE
environment eliminates the need to utilize the aircraft as a test platform.
DESCRIPTION
The GSE tool is an application builder, used to develop or modify an
AOC application and create data load disks for on-aircraft loading of the
CMU-900 and DLM-900. The tool can also be used to develop and modify an AOC-900
application for the Airbus ATSU. The GSE uses a graphical user interface.
The Rockwell Collins engineering staff uses the GSE exclusively for the creation
and modification of AOC applications for numerous customers. The GSE distribution compact disk (CD) is a collection of all the necessary
executable files, databases, dynamically linked libraries (DLLs) and font
files, required to install the software on a host PC. The GSE-produced AOC
application data disk is used as the media for data loading an AOC into the
appropriate LRU (i.e., CMU-900, DLM-900 or ATSU) with an ARINC 615 compatible
data loader. The data loading operation is accomplished with the LRU installed
on the aircraft. The ABLE simulator allows a user to run and evaluate the actual CMU-900
or DLM-900 AOC application created by the GSE tool in a host environment.
The AOC-900 software for the Airbus ATSU can not be evaluated with the ABLE
simulator. The ABLE environment eliminates the need to utilize an aircraft
as a test platform. ABLE allows the user to emulate the configuration of
an aircraft. Aircraft configurations differ based on the number of device
types installed and connected to the CMU-900/DLM-900. Additionally, ABLE allows
the user to set variables (i.e., discrete inputs/outputs and programming pins)
to simulate other types of connections. The ABLE simulator distribution CD is a collection of the necessary
executable files to required to install the software on a host PC. User Programmability Tools | GSE | 832-3334-XXX | AOC application development s/w tool | CMU-900,DLM-900 and

Rockwell Collins offers training on the use of the GSE and Able tools.
Training is strongly recommended for users desiring to make their own changes
or to obtain the tools to assist in simulation. Contact your local Rockwell
Collins representative for additional information.
