DESCRIPTION
The FCS-700 is a fully digital, fail operational autopilot
flight director system. The system, part of the Boeing 757 and 767 flight
control system, performs tasks associated with control wheel steering, flight
director commands, speed selection, altitude selection, heading selection,
autopilot, autoland, and system fault isolation. Utilizing the new FCC-703,
system upgrades are much easier and less expensive due to the incorporation
of dataload capability via either front connector or rear connector. The FCC-703 replaces
the FCC-702, Collins part number 622-8787-106,
and FCC-701, Collins part number 622-4591-512. The FCS-700 is the standard autopilot flight director system for the
Boeing 767 and 757 aircraft. The FCS-700 autopilot flight director system consists of
the following equipment types. Alternate statuses of these equipments may
be required in specific aircraft installations. Consult the equipment descriptions
in this section and your local Collins representative.
TYPICAL SYSTEM | FCC-703 | 822-1261-101 | Flight Control Computer (Boeing
PN S241T100-151). Performs the data computation necessary to control the automatic
and manual pilot functions and the automatic and manual land functions. Incorporates
a single chip verified FCP-2000 processor. This system also supports on-board
or portable data loader capability for subsequent system upgrades. (Shipset
contains 3 each.) | | MCP-705 | 822-1492-102 | Mode
Control Panel (Boeing PN S241T100-232). Provides the primary means of flight
crew interface including Backcourse function with the FCS-700 system. Pushbutton
engagement incorporates tactile feel switches for mode select functions. Settings
displayed via backlit LCDs. | | ASA-701 | 622-5374-002 | Autoland Status Annunciator (Boeing
PN S241T120-1). Advises the flight crew of the current status and availability
of the autoland function. (Shipset contains 2 each). |
Alternate System | MCP-704 | 622-8780-103 | Mode Control Panel (Boeing PN
S242T100-221). Provides the primary means of flight crew interface with the
FCS-700 system. Pushbutton engagement incorporates tactile feel switches for
mode select functions. Replaced by MCP-705. 822-1492-101 or 822-1492-102 | | MCP-701 | 622-4717-004 | Mode
Control Panel (Boeing PN S241T100-211). Provides the primary means of flight
crew interface with the FCS-700 system, including engagement and mode select
functions. Pushbutton engagement includes control wheel steering mode. Replaced
by MCP-705 822-1492-101 or 822-1492-102. | | MCP-702 | 622-5391-003 | Mode Control Panel (Boeing PN
S241T100-252). Same as above except does not provide control wheel steering
mode. Bat handles are used for autopilot engagement. Replaced by MCP-705 822-1492-101
or 822-1492-102. | | MCDP-701 | 622-4593-508 | Maintenance
Control Display Panel (Boeing PN S241T100-306). Detects and identifies system
faults and provides maintenance personnel with a record of faulty LRU's. Also
used by ground crews to perform system tests. Includes additional capabilities
to accommodate aircraft equipped with paravisual displays and CDU NAV switching,
onboard dataload support. See note 2. | | ASA-701 | 622-5374-003 | Autoland Status Annunciator (Boeing
PN S241T120-2). Advises the flight crew of the current status and availability
of the autoland function. Special messages required by CAA. (Shipset contains
2 each). See note 2. | | Lens
Cap | 266-7146-120 | N1 Lens
Cap - MCP-701/702 (Boeing PN S241T100-501). This item is used with the MCP-701
or MCP-702 for installations where N1 engine control
is used. | | Switch Guard | 641-9801-001 | Engage Switch Guard - MCP-701
(Boeing PN S241T100-401). This item is used with some MCP-701s to prevent
engagement of the third redundant channel. | | Switch
Guard | 646-3378-001 | Engage Switch Guard
- MCP-702 (Boeing PN S241T100-451). This item is used with some MCP-702s to
prevent engagement of the third redundant channel. | | Switch Guard | 646-5068-001 | Single Mode Switch Guard - MCP-701/702
(Boeing PN S241T100-404). This item may be used to defeat any of the MCP-701/702
pushbutton switches. |
Note(s): | The FCC-702 and FCC-701 do not support
new Boeing 757 and 767 aircraft models (ie. 757-300, 767-400) For these aircraft, the FCC-703 is
the standard Flight Control Computer LRU. ASA-701 is not used on the 767-400ER MCDP-701 622-4593-509 (5241T100-307) required for 767-400. Also, -309
-509 versions available required for airplanes that use LFDS flight deck.
