OVERVIEW
Rockwell Collins developed the AOC-A380 as a data link AOC (Aircraft
Operational Communication) application for the NSS (Network Server Systems).
The AOC-A380 provides the pilot with a means of achieving operational commonality
with the rest of their fleet.
This avionics equipment is designed for the Airbus A380 aircraft.
DESCRIPTION
The Rockwell Collins AOC-A380 software is the data link AOC application
hosted in the NSS.
From the operational service and customisation point of view, it is
at levels similar to the Rockwell Collins AOC on DLM/CMU-900 and ATSU.
The AOC-A380 application is based on a new design but ground stations
do not need any new configuration to work perfectly with.
AOC consists of core software application and a database running in
NSS, not in the avionic domain. Core software application and generic database
are provided by Airbus as basic SFE, while standard database can be provided
by Airbus as SSBFE or Rockwell Collins as a backup. Customized database is
provided by Rockwell Collins as BFE.
The databases consist of:
Minimal configuration (generic database defined with Airbus)
to allow free text, OOOI management, etc.
A configuration to meet most of the airlines AOC needs (standard
database defined with Airbus)
A configuration to meet specific airlines needs (customized
database defined with airlines). The database can be customized using the
GSE-A380 tool (222-6962-x32)
