Meeting CNS/ATM requirements
Avionics supporting CNS/ATM programs include Communications Management Units for data links; an Ethernet-based processing center with flight management capabilities; the SAT-5000 SATCOM radio; the APS-85 Autopilot; the MFD-268 large 6- by 8-inch displays suite; TCAS II Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System; the Multi-Mode Receiver, which combines VOR, ILS, Marker Beacon, and GPS all in one sub-system; and data link modifications to the ARC-190 HF and ARC-210 V/UHF radios. The system provides for all data link requirements. The results of CNS/ATM upgrades provide reduced aircrew workload while integrating command and control. Cockpit efficiency, safety and ease of use are improved, while the system provides a plug-and-play capability that allows for growth with evolving requirements. |
