Rockwell Collins is a leading provider of control and navigation
solutions for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and military and
civilian manned aircraft. Our recent acquisition of Athena
Technologies in April 2008 has expanded our solution offerings to
include completely integrated miniaturized flight control and
navigation systems for superior performance and reliability. Leveraging our success in the UAS market and offering our flight control and navigation systems with significant size, weight, performance and price advantages to both manned and unmanned aviation, Rockwell Collins is looking to transform the industry. The strength of our solutions is now allowing us to pioneer the integration of UAS into commercial airspace. |

Every 20-30 minutes, an unmanned aircraft takes off, flies a mission and lands completely autonomously through the use of Rockwell Collins' advanced flight control and navigation systems. This proven level of reliability and automation, combined with other capabilities, such as fault/damage tolerance, redundant configurations, panic button auto-land, obstacle avoidance and airborne ADS-B, will help to enable UAS and manned aviation to converge efficiently and safely in controlled airspace.
Recognizing the importance of sound policy, procedures and methods for capitalizing on the potential benefits of UAS, Rockwell Collins participates on key committees, such as the Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics (RTCA) Special Committee 203 on UAS in National Airspace. Through the cooperative interaction between Government and industry, we are gaining a critical understanding of the complex requirements for integrating UAS safely and efficiently into multi-use airspace.
