25 years of experience: a continuum of services from maintenance to corporate networks
Creation of the ASC division: Background
Although the division was created in 1989, our experience with communications systems goes back to the early 1970s. At that
time, the Collins Radio Company supplied infrastructure networks for major accounts such as airlines and banks. In France,
Rockwell Collins France entered a partnership with the American division to provide on a turn key basis the Credit Lyonnais
branch network (1975/1978). During the same period, Rockwell Collins France signed a maintenance agreement with the Credit
Lyonnais, with a commitment to results for at least ten years, to provide 99.76% minimum availability for the network, 24
hours a day, 7 days a week. Rockwell Collins France then continued to develop their network and service activities, despite Rockwell International corporation's withdrawal from the business of providing large backbone
networks in the United States in 1982.
Since 1991, Rockwell Collins France has signed agreements with Rockwell Network System (a division of Rockwell Automation, Inc. located
in Santa Barbara, California) to distribute their products, starting with France.
It was thus perfectly natural for Rockwell Collins France to start marketing LAN/WAN solutions in 1992.
