Momentum and Reaction Wheels 15 - 45 Nms

Overview
Rockwell Collins TELDIX® momentum and reaction wheels are available in five different sizes with an angular momentum storage
capacity spanning a range between 0.04 Nms and 68 Nms. The wheels accommodate the requirements of attitude control systems
for satellites weighing less than 65 kg as well as for geostationary satellites reaching a mass of three tons and more.

Description
This wheel family, with a diameter of 31 cm, covers an angular momentum storage capacity range between 15 Nms and 45 Nms.
The wheel contains a built-in Wheel Drive Electronics (WDE) with a simple but reliable signal interface for:
- Analog torque command
- Analog / bi-level telemetry
All versions may be used either as momentum or as reaction wheels. Additionally, a version with external WDE is available
upon request.
These wheels may be used in satellites with a life expectancy of 15 years and more. The 15-year wheel design life is achieved
by using a dedicated oil-resupply-system in the bearing unit, invented by Rockwell Collins. The system is activated by centrifugal
forces and it guarantees adequate, permanent lubrication replenishment during its entire lifetime.
Applications
The wheel has been designed for a specific application. It can be adapted for other programs and platforms.
